Bill Clinton: Jesse Jackson = Barack Obama

What does it say about Barack Obama that it takes two of you to beat him?”

Bill Clinton responds, “Jesse Jackson won South Carolina twice, in ‘84 and ‘88, and he ran a good campaign. And Sen. Obama’s run a good campaign here; he’s run a good campaign everywhere. He’s a good candidate with a good organization.”
Basically, Bill Clinton just discredited Obama’s South Carolina Victory as a ‘black thing’ and it really does not count because ‘black’ people shouldn’t pick the Democratic Nominee.

Bill Clinton has no creditably or honor left.

I do not think that Bill Clinton was discrediting Barack Obama's win. He was simply saying that South Carolina voters picked someone who didn't go on to win the Democratic nominee. That person was Jesse Jackson, who also happens to be black. The media love to protray this as a racial issue. It's not. The Clinton's in my book have worked long and hard for issues important to every race.

Hello Anonymous

I disagree. This was not the first time Bill Clinton tried to discredit an election result. In Nevada, He did the same thing by trying to discredit the Las Vegas strip caucus sites by supporting the lawsuit by a Union supporting Hilary Clinton. This time in South Carolina he used the Jesse Jackson example. Yes, the Clintons have worked hard on important issues for every race, but they are willing to race-bite to win elections.
