PA-Sen: GOP poll has Santorum down by 16

Things are not looking for Senator Rick Santorum.
Democrat Bob Casey has widened his lead over Sen. Rick Santorum (R-Pa.), according to a GOP poll to be released today.

The poll, conducted over the weekend by the Atlanta-based firm Strategic Vision, shows Casey, the state treasurer, capturing 52 percent versus Santorum’s 36 percent — a 16-point gap.

Polls released by the same firm showed Santorum trailing by 14 points in September and nine points in August.
More bad news for the Senator, Roll Call reports via Tapped.
Meanwhile in Pennsylvania, pegged early on as the blockbuster Senate contest of the cycle, Sen. Rick Santorum’s (R-Pa.) suffered the most dramatic financial downturn of any incumbent for the quarter.

Santorum raised $1.8 million in the period, less than half of the almost $3.8 million he raised from April through June, and he was one of only two incumbents to be outraised by a challenger.

State Treasurer Bob Casey Jr. (D), who continues to lead Santorum by double digits in most public polls, raked in a whopping $2.2 million in the quarter.
President Bush approval rating in Pennsylvania is at 36% according to Survery USA News Poll. Senator Rick Santourm is tied to President Bush so closely that he can not distance himself from the failed President. All of those years praising President Bush will come to haunt GOP members of Congress.

State Treasurer Bob Casey is blasting Senator Rick Santourm and the Republican Congress.
"I won't be vague with you today," Casey told more than a thousand businessmen and women at the chamber's annual meeting at the convention center. "The leadership in Washington has actually hurt Pennsylvania business... Year after year Congress and this administration have driven up the deficit with irresponsible tax cuts."
Senator Rick Santourm can not escape the fiasco which is the Republican leadership of Congress and the White House. Every single Republican should be tied to President Bush and incompetent Republican Congress.

Except this race to get very ugly as a leading wing nut goes down in flames, lets remember GOP is shameless.
