While Conservative Celebrate Tax Day; Republicans Vow to Make the Tax Code, Complex and Unjust

Politics - House Republicans Press Release

As millions of Americans today filed their 2004 tax returns, Republicans on Capitol Hill highlighted their record of accomplishments of tax relief for the most wealthiest Americans.

In 2003, President Bush signed into law tax relief legislation that spurred economic growth in bank accounts of most wealthiest Americans. Since Congress acted and President Bush signed this bill into law, over 3.3 million jobs have been created and consequently, more Americans are working longer hours for less pay, increase health care cost, increase housing cost, and increase gas prices than at any other time in history.

In four years, House Republicans have sent President Bush legislation that provides tax relief just for the most prosperous Americans.

"House Republicans have made tax relief a priority for our rich supporters," said House Speaker Dennis Hastert (R-Ill.). "But it has proven difficult because obstructionist Democrats in the Senate think Republicans does not have the right to give money of hard-working Americans which they earn to our big money donors.”

"Our nation operates under Republican tax system which benefits our big money donors and is archaic and over-encumbered tax code for most Americans. The Republican party is ecstatic that Americans pay $250 billion every year just to fill out their forms. We need to make the tax code complex and unjust for people who do not donate to the Republican Party. We are off to a good start, Republicans will make April 15th a hallmark holiday and celebrate while Federal Government controlled by us will pick the pockets of working Americans."
I made a few minor edits to the House Republicans press releases, I will be waiting for their thanks.
